Ana Caram's 2001 Album Blue Bossa on Hybrid SACD from Chesky Records

Signing to Chesky Records in 1989, São Paulo-born Ana Caram soon proved to be one of the audiophile label's most valuable acquisitions. Beginning with her acclaimed debut, Rio After Dark, which featured a cameo by the legendary Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim, she went on to record seven albums for the label, including the highly regarded Blue Bossa, a 2001 project featuring noted drummer Paulo Braga and saxophonist Paulo Levi.

With the album's repertoire consisting of classic Jobim gems (including "Desafinado" and "Corcovado") alongside other Brazilian delights (the infectious "The Telephone Song"), and jazz standards such as "Fly Me to the Moon," Caram cemented her role as a top-tier 21st century ambassador for Brazil's timeless bossa nova sound.
