Featuring songs initially recorded during sessions for the Tug of War album, Pipes of Peace continued Paul's rich vein of songwriting form. Released in 1983, it includes the massive hit duet with Michael Jackson, "Say Say Say," which spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The collaboration with Jackson - then the biggest star on the planet thanks to the success of his Thriller album - extended to another track, the breezy "The Man." Lyrically, the album features Paul's thoughts on love, peace and the future, centered around the symbol of the pipes of peace.
