Cambridge - L/R X Active Streaming Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)

Stand Out with the Cambridge Audio L/R X Active Streaming Bookshelf Speakers: Plug-and-Play Dynamos Offer Bang-On Convenience, Performance, Flexibility, and Build, Play with Spectacular Scale, Extension, and Depth

It’s impossible and disingenuous to say any component is the “perfect,” but if you’re seeking convenience, performance, style, flexibility, clarity, and simplicity from a pair of active bookshelf speakers, the Cambridge Audio L/R X come damn near close to that claim. Authority, scale, extension, and focus. Wired or wireless connectivity. Direct steaming from leading services. Attention-getting color options and confident form factor. The ability to interface with digital and analog sources. Multi-room compatible with Google Cast and AirPlay 2. An HDMI eARC input for your TV. And spectacular sound.

Voiced for larger spaces and bolstered by 800 watts of total amplification, the Roon-ready L/R X uses proprietary 28mm tweeters with dual-radius aluminum dome, custom waveguide, phase ring, and advanced rear-chamber design to deliver nuanced detail and depth. It throws realistic, ultra-wide soundstages in which LR/X seemingly disappear and generate an immersive holographic effect. Front-facing and hidden downwards-firing five-inch woofers probe the low frequencies, eliminate distortion, and work with dual six-inch passive radiators to produce the kind of weight associated with larger speakers. The proof? L/R X extends to 35Hz. Exhilarating.

Another key to L/R X's prowess? A precision 64-bit DSP that preserves subtle textures lost in conventional processing. Every filter stage operates with near-perfect arithmetic accuracy, helping to reveal naturalism, emotionalism, and microdynamics. And you'll hear everything specified to your preferences. EQ presets, room optimization tools, and WiSA wireless linking all aid in opening up placement options while DynamEQ and enhanced protection preserve balance at low and high volumes. L/R X play up to 24-bit/96kHz wirelessly, while the supplied USB-C cable gives you an interference-free connection.

Augmented with a pair of RCA inputs, a built-in MM phonostage for vinyl nights, and a subwoofer output, L/R X supports up to DSD512 via USB. A Toslink output is also at the ready. Cambridge's Gen 4 StreamMagic means all your favorite streaming platforms are a touch away.

Accented with mellow underlighting, top-panel button controls, and acoustically sound cabinets, the 13.11 x 7.87 x 10.24-inch (HWD) L/R X also touts one other obvious and sensible advantage: No need for external amplifiers, DACs, or extra cables if and until you desire to expand your system. Until then, allow these plug-and-play dynamos to liven up your life. You won't be disappointed.
