Combined, these breakthroughs increase the usable bandwidth, enabling improvements to the crossover and final response of the speaker. The result: Platinum Series 3G mid and bass drivers boast the lowest distortion of any Monitor Audio model. Ever. It's also worth noting each driver is held in place by cast-aluminum frames that create two layers of isolation between the driver chassis and cabinet.

Constructed using laminated MDF layers to form a curved, braced, and super-rigid 18-21mm rear cabinet with a 36mm-thick baffle machined to create a unique curved front profile, the full cabinet comes embellished with etched inlays to highlight the craftsmanship before no fewer than 16 layers of lacquer gets added on top to create a striking, luxury piano-gloss finish. (White models have a pure satin matte finish.)
