Functional Beauty, Epitomized: Audio-Technica Hotaru All-in-One Floating Turntable Features Reactive Illumination and Built-In Speakers, Plus a Magnetic Repulsion-Based Platter for Incredible Suspension

Limited to 1,000 units worldwide, the Audio-Technica Hotaru all-in-one floating turntable is engineered to be an immersive sonic and visual voyage. Featuring an integrated amplifier and speakers, this unique design uses reactive illumination to create a gorgeous ambience with a color palette involving 20 different shades. As your vinyl LP spins, Hotaru’s lighting reacts and harmonizes with the music, blending analog warmth and visual rhythm.

Just as cool, Hotaru — which draws inspiration from the glow of fireflies, traditionally beloved in Japanese culture — employs a “floating” concept that involves a magnetic repulsion-based platter that suspends the turntable midair, suppressing vibrations and enhancing accuracy. A sub-platter drive mechanism with a concealed belt further minimizes motor distortions and allows you to hear subtle details. A special version of the AT-VM740xML cartridge with a black finish and microlinear stylus furthers the ease and delight this package delivers every time you play an album. A high-rigidity carbon-fiber straight tonearm, aluminum case with a pair of 2.5-inch integrated speakers, and solid brass feet underline the seriousness with which Hotaru takes quality.

Of course, the 30-pound Hotaru really stands out because of how it looks and changes the listening experience. Three lighting modes — Basic that sets the mood with a single color; Gradient that transitions from one color to another; Link that adaptively captures the character of what is playing — ensure you’ll never grow bored with this exemplary example of functional beauty.  Packaged in a faux-alabaster stone box, you'll find the Hotaru within, wrapped in traditional Kyoto furoshiki cloth.

Floating Platter Redefines Space
Hotaru's floating platter uses magnetic repulsion to suspend the turntable midair, minimizing vibration transmission and enhancing playback accuracy. This innovative structure is as purposeful as it is beautiful — designed to deliver clarity in every detail.

Light That Listens to Music
Hotaru transforms any space through a vivid interplay of sound and light. As the record plays, the light reacts and harmonizes with it, drawing from a palette of 20 shades. From dynamic excitement to soft ambience, Hotaru delivers an immersive sensory experience that blends analog warmth with visual rhythm. Hotaru features three lighting modes: Basic Mode sets the mood with a single color, Gradient Mode transitions smoothly from one color to the next, and Link Mode captures the character of the music, adapting its color by reacting to the sounds being played.

Function Meets Beauty
Hotaru features a high-quality aluminium case with integrated speaker and solid brass feet. The lightweight carbon-fiber tonearm and AT-VM740xML cartridge pair together perfectly. The platter is driven via a concealed belt-driven sub-platter, which minimizes the effect of motor vibrations while preserving both sonic performance and aesthetics.
