Barbara Lewis The Many Grooves of Barbara Lewis on LP: All-Analog Pressing, Reissued on Vinyl for the First Time.
Way back in the early years of our Real Gone label, we released a two-CD collection of Barbara Lewis’ complete Atlantic singles that spotlighted her pop-soul smashes like “Hello Stranger,” “Baby I’m Yours,” and “Make Me Your Baby,” and it ended up being one of our most popular releases. Well, now we’re back to chronicle another key chapter in Barbara’s career, the amazing, career-capping soul record she made in Chicago for Stax’s Enterprise imprint right at the end of the ‘60s. Produced by longtime collaborator Ollie McLaughlin, The Many Grooves of Barbara Lewis surrounded her effortless, smooth vocal style with a much grittier sound than the Atlantic sides. And with tracks ranging from Clarence Carter’s “Slip Away” to the ‘60s pop confection “Windmills of Your Mind,” the full range of her vocal brilliance is on proud display. It’s one of the great female soul albums of its era, reissued for the first time on LP in an All-Analog pressing on black vinyl. ‘60s and ‘70s soul fans, don’t miss this one!
