Beethoven Symphony No. 3 Eroica: Giulini: Original Source Series
Full Details
Beethoven Symphony No. 3 Eroica: Giulini Reissued as Part of the Original Source Series on 180g 2LP from Deutsche Grammophon: Pure Analogue Mix, Cut from the Original Tapes at Emil Berliner Studios, Pressed at Optimal
Beethoven began composing his Third Symphony shortly after his increasing deafness and suicidal thoughts became public knowledge. The ‘heroic’ style of this symphony can be interpreted as a musical expression of his triumph over personal suffering. But the symphony also has enormous musical significance: with the Eroica, Beethoven expanded the symphonic form and thus changed the expectations of a four-part symphony for the next two centuries. Giulini’s recording with Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra is highly regarded as reference recording.
The audiophile vinyl series The Original Source presents outstanding recordings from the 1970s in a whole new sound quality. For this, the renowned Emil Berliner Studios have remastered and cut the original four- and eight-track tapes in 100% analog quality (AAA) using technologies developed specifically to produce the series. The sonic differences to the original releases are considerable: greater clarity, more subtleties and improvements in frequency response, while at the same time less background noise, distortion and compression allow for an audiophile listening experience like never before.
On 180g vinyl records and in a deluxe gatefold edition with original covers and lyrics, accompanied by additional photos and facsimiles of the recording logs and tape boxes.
