Junip's 2010 Debut Album Fields on Colored 2LP.

Color Of Vinyl Subject To Change Without Notice / Call To Confirm Colored Copies Are Still Available

Mute is excited to announce a repressing of Junip’s debut album Fields, now available on colored vinyl.

Originally released in 2010, Fields marked the full-length debut from the Gothenburg trio Junip - comprised of José González (guitar, vocals), Elias Araya (drums), and Tobias Winterkorn (organ, Moog). Though the band first formed in the late ’90s - releasing their debut 7” in 2000 and the self-released Black Refuge EP in 2006 - Fields was the first full length release, capturing the breadth of their sound and creative chemistry.

Since its release 15 years ago, Fields has amassed over 100 million streams on Spotify. Standout tracks “Far Away” and “Don’t Let It Pass” were featured in Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, while an acoustic version of “Far Away” appeared in the acclaimed video game Red Dead Redemption.

Rolling Stone praised the album’s eclectic range, writing that “González’s classical guitar and weightless tenor float over soul jazz, Afrobeat, Ethiopian funk, and krautrock, while the lyrics explore spirituality and self-realization.” The Guardian described it as “an album to savor when autumn leaves are falling – and through the rest of the year, too.”

Presented in its original gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves, this marks the first time the title will be available on colored vinyl in North America.
