Kix were a five piece heavy metal hard rockin’ band whose musical career broke wide open in the late 80’s with their fourth Atlantic Records smash album Blow My Fuse. Hailing from Hagerstown, MD, lead vocalist Steve Whiteman along with Donnie Purnell (bass), Bryan Forsythe (guitars), Jimmy Chalfant (drums) and Ronnie Younkins (guitars) played together for almost a decade before hitting the top of the rock and pop charts across the globe.
Building on the Top Ten success of Blow My Fuse, Kix went back to the studio and delivered another smash with Hot Wire. Fueled by the rock radio success of “Girl Money”, Hot Wire became an album of choice for rock radio stations everywhere.
As the first rock group signed to Atlantic’s new East West America Records imprint, more hard rocking like “Same Jane”, “Bump The La La”, and the massive title track “Hot Wire” took this band to new heights and is still considered today to be one of the most revered albums in their catalog and the hard rock genre.
Hot Wire was originally released only on CD throughout the world, except for a very rare German pressing that goes for hundreds of dollars. Friday Music is very pleased to announce for the very first time officially on vinyl, the 1991 hard rock classic Hot Wire. Mastered by Joe Reagoso from the original East West America tapes.
