Maria Duenas - Homage to Heifetz (180g Vinyl 2LP)
Full Details
Maria Duenas Homage to Heifetz on 180g 2LP: Recorded at Abbey Road Studios with Gustavo Dudamel.
Jascha Heifetz is widely regarded as one of the most influential violinists of the 20th century. For María Duenas he has been a constant source of artistic inspiration since her childhood. With her new album Homage to Heifetz, she follows in his footsteps, placing at its core works closely tied to his legacy.
The album was recorded at London's iconic Abbey Road Studios with Gustavo Dudamel—an important inspiration for Duenas not only "as a phenomenal musician, but also as a wonderful human being"—and the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra. The program includes, among other works, Korngold's Violin Concerto and Lalo's Symphonie espagnole, alongside miniatures by Debussy and Ponce that deliberately echo Heifetz's tradition.
The result is a tribute that honors Heifetz's legacy while also showcasing María Duenas' own distinctive artistic voice.
