Ammonia Avenue focuses on the possible misunderstanding of industrial scientific developments from a public perspective and a lack of understanding of the public from a scientific perspective. It was a worldwide hit achieving platinum and gold status in numerous countries such as USA, Germany, Netherlands, France and Canada.
Like other Alan Parsons Project albums, there were a variety of different lead vocalists employed including Chris Rainbow, Colin Blunstone, Lenny Zakatek as well as Eric Woolfson himself. Plus, a selection of session musicians such as guitarists Ian Bairnson and David Paton and drummer Stuart Elliott with arrangements by Andrew Powell.
These vinyl formats were cut using a 1:1 archive transfer from the original Sony 1610 format digital master tape recorded in 1984.
The Alan Parsons Project was a progressive rock music entity comprised of engineer/producer Alan Parsons and songwriter, musician and manager Eric Woolfson. They released 10 concept albums which focused on subject matter such as science fiction, supernatural, literary and sociological themes between 1976–1987 and have sold in excess of 55 million albums worldwide.
