Vinyl debut of the all-star Americana tribute to Merle Haggard’s songwriting prowess. Often revered for his singing, this release spotlights Haggard’s honest and simple approach to songwriting, as well as his ability to illustrate smalltown life. Dwight Yoakam, Dave Alvin, Lucinda Williams and more put their signature spins on tracks such as “Big City,” “Kern River” and “You Don’t Have Very Far To Go.” The L.A. Times says the album “couldn’t be more loving or more sensitive.”
