Simply No More Jitter: AudioQuest's JitterBug Full Metal Jacket USB Filter Eliminates Radio Frequency Noise, Allowing You to Enjoy Pristine Music

The team at AudioQuest devised ingenious ways to make a terrific product even better with the JitterBug Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) USB 2.0 Filter. Around the globe, tens of thousands of music lovers are already enjoying better audio enabled by the original AudioQuest JitterBug – whether it is plugged into a laptop computer, a car's USB jack, a USB "service-only" jack on an Ethernet streamer, or in another setting. Now, the JitterBug FMJ USB noise filter offers even better performance, allowing you to enjoy the nuance, dynamics, and sonic textures of your favorite music.

The AudioQuest JitterBug FMJ USB Filter not only reduces internally generated noise, it also measurably reduces jitter and packet errors. Whether used in-series (in-line) or in parallel, JitterBug significantly reduces contamination from radio frequency (RF) noise generated by a computer, car, or other device. Adding to the sonic "clean-up job" is the fact that JitterBug FMJ thoroughly addresses environmental RF noise that can intrude upon this vulnerable interface.

The shielded metal case of the JitterBug FMJ USB Filter is the most obvious change to the new edition, and it provides protection against external noise. Although the seemingly innocuous hinged piece covering JitterBug's output may not look like much, it is crucial to JitterBug's improved performance. That little black "door" is RF-proof because its construction material includes RF-absorbing carbon. The result is an exciting "you are there" sensation when listening to music.

All digital devices – laptops, phones, streamers, etc. – generate and are susceptible to RF noise and parasitic resonances. JitterBug's dual discrete noise-dissipation circuits reduce all forms of noise in both the sending and receiving electronics. This results in spacious, more compelling sound for the listener.

For improved audio performance, simply place one JitterBug in-line (in-series) between any computer, smartphone, NAS, streamer, or car audio system and a USB input. For additional sonic improvement, you can use a second JitterBug in another unoccupied USB port – that is, in parallel to the first – except with JitterBug FMJ's front door closed. When using Ethernet, digital coax, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth (at home or in a car), plug JitterBug FMJ into an available USB port to reduce noise.

A JitterBug in-series with the AudioQuest DragonFly Black or AudioQuest DragonFly Red always helps those wonderful creatures fly higher and faster. However, it's best to experiment when putting a JitterBug in front of an AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt – which itself employs some of JitterBug's filtering, so the two filters in-series can help or hurt performance, depending on the specific equipment and context.

Regardless of which DragonFly you use (or any other considerations), in general, a second JitterBug in parallel consistently offers a remarkable improvement because it pulls more RF noise off the USB power bus. This is how – and why – a JitterBug makes just as big an improvement even when plugged into service-only or update-only USB ports on many devices.

The integrated RF-proof USB output plug further reduces noise, and the JitterBug complies will all USB 2.0 specifications. JitterBug uses USB-A connections on both ends. When used with a computer or other device (or car) with only USB-C connections, AudioQuest offers a high-performance C-male to A-female adaptor, and the DragonTail flexible C-to-A adaptor (included with DragonFly Cobalt).

Noise reduction and noise dissipation are at the heart of what AudioQuest does. Even though you can't hear our modern world's pervasive RF noise, the muddying effects and nasty compromises it causes can rob music lovers of detail and contrast, and it can bury musical subtlety. The JitterBug FMJ USB Filter is an essential, affordable key to sonic clarity. Like all Music Direct products, it comes with the 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee.
