Brilliant Engineering and Precise Architecture Make the Rotel RC-1590MKII Preamplifier Ideal for Reference-Level Audio Systems
Building a reference-level audio system requires multiple reference-level components. Gracefully filling that need is the Rotel RC-1590MKII Preamplifier, which renders audio with natural expression, an open soundstage, and amazing dynamic clarity. Analog, digital, Bluetooth, and turntable sources are supported by a bespoke acoustic tuning process that will allow you to enjoy your favorite music in a new, transformative way.
The keys to what make Rotel's RC-1590MKII perform so well begin with its power supply, featuring dual, in-house manufactured toroidal transformers. One is for analog signals, and one is for digital. The transformers are physically and electrically isolated, supplying dedicated analog and digital supply voltages to all critical circuits through low ESR slit-foil capacitors. This precise architecture eliminates interference and distortion, and it results in an extremely low noise floor.
The elegant front panel of the RC-1590MKII includes more than a dozen easy-access source controls, a large, precision volume controller, a headphone connection, and a USB connection for iOS audio playback.
Digital source inputs are processed utilizing an audiophile-grade, Texas Instruments 32-bit/384kHz digital-to-analog converter (DAC), with custom-engineered, proprietary acoustically tuned external output filter circuits. Even the most subtle sonic details are rendered with exceptional clarity. Analog signal paths feature Direct-Path bypass modes, which maintain signal integrity and eliminate unwanted noise and distortion
The RC-1590MKII supports a wide array of inputs, ensuring connection to your favorite sources, including a moving-magnet (MM) phono input for vinyl lovers. Other capabilities of this Roon Tested component include XLR balanced outputs, high-quality aptX and AAC Bluetooth for wireless streaming, plus PC-USB (32-bit/384kHz) supporting MQA decoding and rendering. Dual RCA and XLR output connections provide tremendous flexibility, including bi-amplification installations. Additionally, a subwoofer output is included.
The Rotel RC-1590MKII comes with a remote control, and like all Music Direct products, it comes with the 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee.
"The Rotel RC-1590MKII excels sonically in several ways, including providing an expansive, rock-solid soundstage, a detailed-yet-smooth presentation in the midrange and upper frequencies, and dynamic bass that is precise and well-controlled. The Rotel RC-1590MKII has an extremely low noise floor and maintains its expansive soundstage, even at very low listening levels.... [And], at its price point, it represents a tremendous value to boot."
—Bob Barrett, Home Theater Review
"The Rotel RC-1590MKII is one of the finest-sounding preamps I've heard. It delivers high-end sound and build quality at a reasonable price.... [It offers] top-notch musicality, with finesse and power."

Commitment to Environmentalism
As more and more electronics are produced, it is important for manufacturers to do all they can to design products that have a minimum impact on the environment. At Rotel, employees are proud to do their part. Rotel has reduced the lead content in its products by using special lead-free ROHS solder and components.
Rotel engineers continually strive to improve power-supply efficiency without compromising quality. When in standby mode, Rotel products use minimal power to meet global Standby Power Consumption requirements. Additionally, the Rotel factory undergoes constant improvements to its product-assembly methods, resulting in cleaner and "greener" manufacturing processes.
Rotel was founded more than 60 years ago by a family whose passionate interest in music led them to manufacture high-fidelity components of uncompromising quality. Through the decades, that passion has remained undiminished.
Rotel's engineers work closely as a team, intensely listening to, and fine-tuning, each new product until it meets exacting musical standards. The engineers are free to choose components from around the world in order to make that product the best it can be. Rotel products are likely to include capacitors from the United Kingdom and Germany, and semiconductors from Japan or the United States, while toroidal power transformers are manufactured in Rotel's own factory.
