Double Down on DAC Processing and High-Res Sound: Onix Zenith XDA20 DAC/Headphone Amplifier Features Eight Op-Amps, In-House-Developed Circuitry, and I2S Connectivity for Optimal Performance
Two is better than one. That’s the underlying philosophy of the Onix Zenith XDA20 DAC/headphone amplifier, which soars courtesy of a pair of ESS ES9039Pro DACs and eight OPA1611 op-amps in an in-house-developed "Brighton" I/V conversion circuit. To complete the trifecta, XDA10 also features a 15W+25W dual Talema transformer power supply for incredibly clear, stable power delivery. In addition, four 3300 μF/63V Vishay capacitors are used for filtering. High-res audio up to DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz via XDA20 sounds nothing less than brilliant.
Designed to give you absolute freedom with high-end source-DAC pairing, the 12.6-pound XDA includes I2S connectivity and performs at its optimum when used with this input (especially when connected to the partnering XST20 SACD transport). A special FPGA-assisted I2S circuit that offers 10 different pin-outs means XDA matches practically any type of transport. An S/PDIF input and USB DAC input abet an RCA output as well as a pair of XLR outputs.
Housed in a CNC-machined aluminum alloy chassis crafted to maximize shock absorption, XDA20 also invites you to plug in your 'phones and access a world of detailed, dynamic sound. Its OPA1612 high-current headphone amplifier and custom-devised headphone circuit output up to 1620mW at 32 ohms, enough to easily drive almost every model that works with a 6.35mm output.
Looking the part with a 3.4-inch color touchscreen that exudes simplicity and elegance, as well as a robust control know, XDA20 comes with a remote control and measured specs that in every regard confirm its outstanding sonic aptitude. Whether you use it in a desktop or main system, it sings.
