George Thorogood And The Destroyers George Thorogood And The Destroyers on LP

When it comes to real rock and roll - the kind defined by original masters such as Chuck Berry and John Lee Hooker - no band has kept the torch burning brighter than George Thorogood and the Destroyers. While the core of the band - George, bass player Billy Blough and drummer Jeff Simon - have now been barnstorming the world for over 30 years, these are the high energy and long out of print recordings that first put them on the map remastered and reissued by Rounder Records/Concord Music Group.

This hard-rocking trio from Newark, Delaware started off playing for hard-core blues fans in small clubs in the ’70s, became for a few years Rounder’s biggest-selling act, and then moved on to the major labels, rock 'n' roll megastardom, and all that. 1977's George Thorogood And The Destroyers and its enduring rendition of John Lee Hooker's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer," is the album that started it all and it would serve as the prototype for the group's future records.
