Richard Thompson Some Enchanted Evenings on Numbered-Edition 180g 45RPM LP from Mobile Fidelity: Audiophile Edition of Live EP Is Out of Print
Performances Handpicked by Thompson, Include Beatles Cover and the Singer's Timeless "1952 Vincent Black Lightning"
Through his early days in Fairport Convention to his huge success as a solo artist, Richard Thompson has proven to be one of the most enduring and prolific singer/songwriter/guitarists of our time. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab is proud to release Some Enchanted Evenings on limited edition EP, cut at 45 RPM, on Mobile Fidelity’s GAIN 2 Ultra Analog Vinyl featuring MFSL's exclusive and legendary Half-Speed Mastering process.
The repertoire for this superb release was compiled from live performances (circa 1985-2003) and selected by the artist himself from his own personal archives. These selections include interesting covers of the Beatles' “It Won’t Be Long” and a fun cover of Britney Spears’ pop smash “Oops! I Did It Again."
"Thompson’s acoustic guitar work on ["1952 Vincent Black Lightning"] is positively astounding for its agility, speed, clarity and musicality, and is alone worth the $19.95 price of admission, though his passionate vocal take is equally mesmerizing and exceptional."
