Experience the State-of-the-Art in Wireless Bookshelf Speakers: KEF LS Luxe Feature 12th-Gen Uni-Q Driver, MAT, and Velocity Control Technology to Play with Stunning Detail, Clarity, and Naturalism
True to their name in every regard, the KEF LS Luxe wireless bookshelf speakers advance the state-of-the-art in its product category and deliver a combination of performance, convenience, and aesthetics that's entirely luxurious. Designed by renowned industrial engineer Ross Lovegrove, LS Luxe sports sculptured lines and forward-thinking connectivity that lets you add everything from a TV to subwoofers and legacy disc players.
To wit: LS Luxe benefits from a class-leading W2 Wireless Platform that drives the LS Wireless Collection, offering seamless access to a plethora of music services that include TIDAL, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, and more. You can also stream directly from native apps like Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and QPlay. When you use Apple Airplay or Google Cast, you can stream to multiple speakers. Want to connect wired devices? LS Luxe can hook up to your TV, CD player, and game console via HDMI eARC, analog, optical, and coaxial inputs. Each of the speakers also has a dedicated output for adding one or two subwoofers. Moreover, LS Luxe handles both wired and wireless inter-speaker connections for flexible placement. And it can play your personal music collection from a compatible NAS drive or music server in lossless up to 24-bit/384kHz and DSD.
So far so good, you might say, but how does LS Luxe fare when it comes to power and fidelity? Bolstered by a 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q driver with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), Velocity Control Technology (VECO), and Music Integrity Engine (MIE), the 13.2 x 8.8 x 11.7 inches (HWD) LS Luxe is fueled by 100W Class AB and 280W Class D current-drive amplifiers — in each speaker. This combination directly controls the cone motion by regulating the current delivered to the primary voice coils of the one-inch vented aluminum dome tweeter and 6.5-inch LMF driver, respectively.
As such, LS Luxe plays with natural, clean, accurate sound marked by laser-focused bass, extended highs, engaging dynamics, and incredible detail. Its point-source configuration architecture that puts the tweeter right at the center of the woofer further ensures uniform dispersion throughout the room. Simultaneously, MAT functions as a kind of "acoustic black hole" that absorbs approximately 99 percent of unwanted energy, reducing interference and refining clarity. And that's just the start of the innovation in LS Luxe.
Mechanically decoupled from the cabinet to minimize panel vibrations that could otherwise generate distortion, the Uni-Q assembly also features a bespoke flexible decoupling chassis arrangement that decouples and dampens the vibrations of the LMF motor, thereby preventing them from exciting the cabinet panels. KEF also graces LS Luxe with VECO, which employs a closed-loop feedback amplification system that combines a patented velocity sensor and custom current-drive amplification stage within both primary and secondary speakers. The velocity sensor measures the real-time cone motion, feeding the data to the amplifier, which instantly corrects any discrepancies between the input signal and the cone's motion. Last but not least, MIE – a proprietary suite of DSP algorithms – has been specially tuned for LS Luxe to advance sonic integrity and precision. It affords excellent control and consistent tonality regardless of volume or duration.
Easy to set up and control via the KEF Connect app or provided remote control, LS Luxe touts intuitive settings that let you tailor it to your preferences. With its Room EQ DSP, LS LUXE can be fine-tuned to your room in a jiffy. ‘Normal mode’ is designed to talk you through the process with easy questions; all you might need is a tape measure. ‘Expert mode’ allows you to configure EQ preferences with a fine-tuning of the EQ in dBs for expert users. For easy integration of a KEF subwoofer with LS LUXE, Room EQ includes subwoofer pre-sets.
Available in three elegant finishes and housed in smooth, low-diffraction cabinets, LS Luxe gives you an elevated blend of freedom, finesse, and fidelity that must be experienced. To arrange your risk-free in-home audition, give us a shout at 312-433-0200.
