Namely, CS 718 uses a double-shielded direct-drive motor with iron-less coils to eliminate vibration and quartz-stabilized speed control for accurate 33, 45, and 78RPM playback. An aluminum die-cast platter with a full-surface rubber-coated underside and heavy mat for damping; MDF plinth complete with height-adjustable feet; and a hardened steel spine brass bushing bearing further contribute to its high-end operation.

CS 718 further steps up its game with an aluminum-carbon sandwich tube tonearm augmented by a twin-gimbal bearing. It provides bang-on height adjustment via a rotary mechanism, adjustable tracking force with a spiral-spring mechanism that accounts for skating compensation over the entire audio range, and automatic lift functionality. Dynamic Tracking Force
During vertical movement of the tonearm, a spring maintains a nearly constant tracking force. The tonearm is balanced with its center of gravity at the pivot point, allowing the stylus to follow complex groove modulations more consistently. Spring-applied tracking force is gravity-independent, reducing the effect of an off-level turntable position on stylus pressure and lateral forces for more reliable playback. Exact winding geometry, guaranteed material thickness, and advanced heat treatment ensure long-term stability of the spring.

Spring-Loaded Anti-Skating
Dual turntables offer step-less adjustment using a rotary knob without predetermined increments. The easy-to-read scale serves as a guideline for quick and easy adjustment of the anti-skating force. A mechanism with a specially shaped spring ensures precise skating compensation over the entire playback range.

Classic Dual Tonearm
The classic Dual tonearms are characterized by a twin gimbal bearing. The arrangement of the bearing points around the tonearm tube reduces tilting moments to a minimum. The bearing is based on precision pivot ball bearings in combination with a precise machined tip in the rotation shaft. This design ensures virtually play-free movement and minimizes friction.
