This album features a culmination of hits, showcasing an impressive array of musical accomplishments. Recorded in 1983, months prior to his death, it serves as a poignant testament to the artist's talent and marks a significant chapter in their illustrious career. As it nears the end of the artist's musical journey, the collection becomes a retrospective exploration of their legacy, loaded with chart-topping tracks that encapsulate the essence of their artistic evolution.

His early career at Motown included success as a session drummer and backing vocalist, but it was his solo career that brought him widespread fame. Gaye's smooth and emotive voice, combined with his songwriting skills, contributed to a string of hit records in the 1960s, including "Stubborn Kind of Fellow," "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)," and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."

In the 1970s, Gaye's music took a more socially conscious and introspective turn. Albums like "What's Going On" (1971) and "Let's Get It On" (1973) showcased his ability to address political and social issues, as well as explore themes of love and sensuality. "What's Going On" is often considered one of the greatest albums in the history of popular music.

Tragically, Marvin Gaye's life was cut short when he was shot and killed by his father, Marvin Gay Sr., one day before his 45th birthday, on April 1, 1984. His contributions to soul and R&B music continue to be celebrated, and he remains an influential figure in the history of popular music.
