Vivaldi The Four Seasons: Neville Marriner Reissued for the Decca Pure Analogue Series on 180g LP: Mastered by Rainer Maillard and Cut by Sidney C. Meyer at Emil Berliner Studios Using 100% Pure Analogue Techniques (AAA). Pressed at Pallas in Germany.

This 1969 recording of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Sir Neville Marriner, the most recorded orchestra/conductor partnership in history, remains as fresh and bursting with new ideas as it did when it first came out. Alan Loveday’s wonderfully stylish violin solos and Simon Preston’s imaginative continuo realization on harpsichord and organ make this one of the most musically satisfying “Seasons” on record. Recorded by Argo at St. John’s, Smith Square, London in September 1969, by the classic combination of producer Michael Bremner and balance engineer Stanley Goodall.

Decca Pure Analogue Series features the original 1/4-inch, two-track stereo tapes mastered by Rainer Maillard and cut by Sidney C. Meyer at Emil Berliner Studios.
