Two iconic JBL loudspeakers in an integrated single-cabinet system? Meet the Roon-ready L42ms music system, distinguished with the familiar Quadrex grille and a pair of dual four-inch woofers and dual 0.75-inch aluminum dome tweeters with waveguides positioned to the left and right. That arrangement creates a wide, even soundfield distinguished with JBL’s signature blend of liveliness, dynamics, presence, and detail.

Designed for convenience and flexibility, L42ms plays both wired and wireless content on demand. Dial up what you want to hear via Spotify, AirPlay 2, or Google Chromecast — or connect a device via Bluetooth. No matter the platform, all audio signals — up to 24-bit/96kHz PCM — are routed through L42ms’ advanced DSP engine and high-res DAC, then output to the speakers via a four-channel amplifier that sends 75W RMS to each driver and 25W RMS to each tweeter. You can control it all via a touch panel, included remote, or from an assortment of apps.

Engineered at the Harman Center of Acoustics Excellence in California, L42ms is a connection wizard. An HDMI ARC input for your TV; pair of RCA analog inputs; 3.5mm analog input; and Ethernet input complement a subwoofer output. The 26.3-pound unit also looks like a classic JBL through and through. Measuring 6.4 x 24.3 x 9.2 inches (HWD), L42ms touts real wood veneer finishes, tapered side edges, and a curved grille. All you need to decide is whether you want black or natural walnut.
