For his sixth and latest Deutsche Grammophon album, pianist Seong-Jin Cho returns to the music of Frédéric Chopin. His third Chopin recording for Deutsche Grammophon is entitled Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 2 - Scherzi. For this album, Cho collaborates with the London Symphony Orchestra and its conductor Gianandrea Noseda, with whom he has enjoyed a productive and stimulating working relationship over the past five years. Cho gained international attention and critical acclaim with his first prize at the 2015 Warsaw Chopin Competition, followed by a studio recording combining Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 and the 4 Ballades. Following this latest Chopin release, Cho presents what he considers the logical companion of the repertoire - a program consisting of Chopin's Romantic Piano Concerto No. 2 and the Four Scherzi. Seong-Jin Cho's interpretations of the pieces, marked by thoughtful poetry and youthful ardor, coupled with his technical skills and artistic maturity, offer an unique and unforgettable sound experience.
