Elevate Your Sound: Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-8060FA II Dolby Atmos Floor-Standing Speakers Reach New Sonic Heights Thanks to Built-In Height Channel

Dolby Atmos technology has dramatically changed the way we perceive music and movies, and the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-8060FA II floor-standing speakers allow you to enjoy this transformative experience in your own listening room. Now you can hear "sound from above" in music, films, and games. The RP-8060FA II speakers feature a high-performance, 6.5-inch, two-way, up-firing Dolby Atmos speaker integrated into the top of the cabinet for an awe-inspiring, all-encompassing entertainment experience. This perfectly matched setup (also featuring a 1-inch titanium tweeter) virtually disappears, thanks to integrated speaker terminals placed low on the cabinet for an unobtrusive connection.

With Dolby Atmos, you genuinely feel "surrounded" by sound. That's because controlled directivity in the RP-8060FA II ensures precise aim at an optimal level for the listener, while Dolby Atmos literally elevates the sensation by delivering sound from above your head—without the cost and hassle of installing in-ceiling speakers.

The mesmerizing performance of the RP-8060FA II involves much more than just the revolutionary, built-in height channel. These 43.1-inch towers vividly demonstrate why so many music lovers around the globe fully embrace horn architecture in loudspeakers. Klipsch's exclusive horn design maximizes efficiency and increases sonic detail while focusing high frequencies toward the listening area. The second-generation design of this horn has increased its size for enhanced directivity and to generate larger soundstages.

Designed and engineered in the USA, these elegant speakers are loaded with numerous examples of signature Klipsch technology. They feature a new, larger, 90-degree x 90-degree silicone composite hybrid Tractrix horn, which provides incredibly efficient transfer of high-frequency waves into your listening space for crisp, clear sound. A bigger horn means better sound, and the phase plug and compression molded silicone face help ensure smooth frequency response. These speakers are engineered to offer big power with nuanced detail, making them great for a hi-fi system, a home theater, or a gaming setup.

The proprietary 1-inch titanium Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) diaphragm tweeter—in both the main channel and the height channel—minimizes distortion for detailed, lifelike playback. LTS tweeters are a hallmark of previous Reference Premiere series, making this a core component of some of the most acclaimed loudspeakers in the world.

Another signature of the Reference Premiere series speakers—and one that packs both sonic and visual impact—are the dual 8-inch Cerametallic woofers. They have been updated for flawless sound reproduction, minimum distortion, and maximum efficiency. The redesigned cone woofers with Faraday rings provide the muscle, poise, and emotion that audiophiles around the world have come to expect from a Klipsch Reference Premiere speaker.

Utilizing Tractrix geometry, the port allows for the most efficient, fastest air transfer from the cabinet, which reduces port noise for punchier low frequencies. Less turbulent air leads to a reduction in potential port noise, resulting in cleaner bass tones. If you want to feel the bass in a musical passage or a film's action sequences, these muscular speakers will deliver. (For optimal results, place the speakers a bit away from walls. Because of the port design, the bass tones will be richer when the speaker is not positioned directly against a wall.)

The improved input panel now features audiophile-grade wire and easily accessible aluminum binding posts for any connection type. The engineering advancements continue in the interior space, with a revised cabinet design featuring additional bracing and a divided cabinet to minimize resonances and vibration. The strong, flexible, removable grille attaches magnetically for an elegant look, so the RP-8060FA II speakers can make a visual statement in any room.

The cast aluminum feet enhance both the sonic performance and the aesthetics. They offer a more modern look with less resonance than MDF or ABS plastic. They are designed to minimize the surface area in contact with the floor, decoupling the speaker for faster, tighter low frequencies and improved sonic detail.

Silicon Composite Hybrid Tractrix Horn

Horn loading maximizes efficiency and increases sonic detail while focusing high frequencies toward the listening area. The Klipsch proprietary Tractrix geometry provides the most efficient transfer of high frequency waves into the listening area. The phase plug and compressed molded silicon face help ensure smooth frequency response—and the result is clean, natural sound.

New Design for Cerametallic Woofers

A signature feature of the Reference Premiere series, Cerametallic woofers are exceptionally rigid and lightweight—key factors for minimizing distortion and maximizing efficiency. New aluminum shorting rings also reduce distortion, and the new motor structure allows for greater control, speed, and accuracy.

Exclusive LTS Tweeter

Klipsch's exclusive 1-inch LTS tweeter minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance. The vented tweeter housing reduces standing waves that create unwanted harmonics, resulting in advanced levels of detail and clarity in high-frequency reproduction.

Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping Capability

The RP-8060FA II speakers feature the option for bi-wiring and bi-amping. Dual input terminals for bi-wiring / bi-amping capabilities separate the high- and low-frequency current into different speaker cables, reducing distortion for clearer midrange tones. Bi-amping allows for further optimization of performance with separate outboard power amplifiers for the high-frequency and low-frequency drivers.

Dolby Atmos: Truly Three-Dimensional Sound

For many years, audiophiles and cinema buffs have praised surround sound technology, and Dolby Atmos has added a truly immersive, three-dimensional element that has revolutionized entertainment in cinemas and home theaters. Nowadays, an entertainment system is not only capable of making sound emerge from above your head, but it can be more nimble and expressive in terms of the numerous speaker locations where sound appears to originate.
