Ortofon Concorde Elite MM Phono Cartridge Features a Proprietary Suspension System and Nude Elliptical Diamond Stylus for Precise Performance and Exceptional Tracking

The phono cartridge experts at Ortofon have elevated the level of performance possible in a premium, affordable, moving-magnet (MM) cartridge by crafting the trailblazing Concorde Elite. This innovative model builds upon the legacy of the Concorde MkII Series. Engineered with passion and featuring cutting-edge technology, the Concorde Elite offers superb tracking ability to extract micro-details from vinyl grooves and draw you closer to your favorite music.

The Concorde Elite features a new, precisely molded stylus body with real gold plating. Encased by the gold is a nude elliptical diamond stylus, along with a rigid aluminum cantilever. This brilliant architecture allows the cartridge to deliver a sound so powerful and detailed, with such wide dynamics, that it evokes the experience of attending a concert.

The utilization of a nude elliptical diamond allows for a smaller moving mass, which leads to smooth, superior performance. The slim profile of the nude elliptical diamond enables it to follow the groove oscillations in vinyl with extreme precision. The design allows it to extract minute, intricate details, and convey even the highest-frequency information.

As veteran audiophiles know, a superb cantilever embodies the ideal compromise between being lightweight and being high strength. Such an approach requires great ingenuity in the design, as well as in the choice of materials. The properties of the Rigid 750 µm aluminum-magnesium cantilever, developed exclusively for the Concorde Elite, ensure that the stylus picks up the groove vibrations with tremendous accuracy, while also allowing it to serve as the ideal interface between the stylus and armature.

The armature features a specially developed, unique coil system to transform and transmit the diamond's movements into optimized output. To ensure superior tracking performance, Ortofon engineers have devised a new, proprietary rubber suspension system. The result is extraordinary performance for exceptional sonics. The Concorde Elite supplies authentic, lifelike sound while also providing a damping characteristic to address excess brightness. Check out the Concorde Elite and hear the difference for yourself.

About Ortofon

A great success story began on October 9, 1918, when two Danish engineers—Axel Petersen (1887–1971) and Arnold Poulsen (1889–1952)—founded the Electrical Phono Film Company. Their collaborators were a few capable, visionary businessmen who would support the organization financially. Their goals were to explore the possibility of high-end recording and to develop one of the first synchronized sound film systems in the world. Under relatively primitive conditions, these two remarkable Danish engineers and their small staff solved numerous issues that were once considered insurmountable, due to technical limitations.

In 1948, Ortofon developed its first moving-coil cartridge. Since then, more than 300 different cartridges have been created.

Today, Ortofon is a powerhouse in the audiophile world, developing and manufacturing world-class phono cartridges, as well as components for the hearing-aid industry. The Ortofon manufacturing facility in Nakskov, Denmark, has cutting-edge machinery run by experienced operators. This ideal combination ensures the superior craftsmanship and outstanding quality control that has made the name Ortofon revered around the globe.
