Description

Music Hall MMF Mark1 Turntable Comes with an 8.6-Inch Tonearm and Ortofon OM 5E Phono Cartridge for Precise Tracking

In the audiophile world, it can be reassuring to have a successful "sibling," and such is the case with the superb Music Hall MMF Mark1 turntable. In certain circles, the Mark1 is not as famous as the more expensive Music Hall MMF 2.3 turntable—but just like family members who share a lot of admirable traits, the engineering at the heart of the belt-drive Mark1 is substantially the same as that of the 2.3. As Music Hall fans around the world have learned, Roy Hall's signature sound can be heard in all the company's turntables—and, fortunately for music fans, the Mark1 is no exception.

With Mark1, the design choices were all made to support the engineering expertise that went into developing this amazing turntable. The high-quality, all-aluminum, 8.6-inch, S-shape tonearm is built for steady, reliable performance. The tonearm design, which features a precision aluminum headshell, results in a terrific level of internal damping. The tonearm flange is CNC-machined, which allows for accurate mounting of the tonearm to the heavy chassis. The vertical tracking angle (VTA) is fully adjustable—a feature rarely seen in this price class.

The Mark1 comes outfitted with the excellent, low-mass, moving-magnet Ortofon OM 5E phono cartridge. The OM 5E features an Elliptical stylus to provide balanced, distortion-free playback. Due to their contoured shape, Elliptical diamonds are able to follow the groove oscillations with extreme accuracy (when compared to spherical diamonds). The proof can be heard in better tracking, less distortion, and realistic, lifelike playback.

The Mark1 has an exquisitely designed magnetic anti-skating feature, a low-noise, AC synchronous motor for superior speed stability, and vibration-damping adjustable feet. Plus, the factory-set, pre-adjusted, and fixed counterweight makes setup a breeze.

The Mark1 can take you on an endlessly rewarding journey through your record collection. Available with a gorgeous, high-gloss, Piano Black or Walnut finish, this elegant musical instrument will enhance any listening room. The Mark1 comes with a dust cover, a 45RPM adapter, and, of course, the 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee.

About Music Hall

Founded in 1985, Music Hall's emphasis is almost exclusively on 2-channel (stereo) equipment—which makes the company something of a rarity in this era of multichannel products. The company manufactures its own range of turntables in the Czech Republic. The 'tables are produced by highly skilled artisans in a factory that has been making turntables for more than 50 years. Music Hall turntables have repeatedly been hailed as "Recommended Components" in Stereophile magazine.
